About Us[an error occurred while processing this directive] [an error occurred while processing this directive] [an error occurred while processing this directive]MissionOur mission is to research, compile, and archive international news and opinion that is of interest to intellectual readers, writers, and activists on a continuous basis. Our primary content focus is on positive social change in the areas of human and civil rights, peace, and social justice.
PositiveUniverse.com provides round-the-clock coverage of news sources around the world that provide balance and correction to the predominant opinions and propaganda of corporate news organizations. But, we also provide emphasis and triangulation to the breaking news of those real and insightful journalists, albeit a minority, whose 'fact-based' reports and provocative or cogent commentaries also appear in the so-called 'mainstream' media. This strategy enables our readers to stay cognizant and informed of all related breaking news and points-of-view at any given minute.
Most importantly, however, we strive to give greater voice to the under-represented and neglected perspectives of persons in lesser positions of earthly power and to those who seek a more forward-looking approach to solving social problems. Theory of a Positive UniverseA universe is ALL that matter(s). Some also believe that there are multiple universes, parallel universes, and dimensional existence. In some research domains such as physics, astronomy, science fiction, religions, philosphy, and the study of existence there may also be a dialectic between a positive realm and negative realm.
The goal of human experience is to constantly expand our perception of a universe and accept its existence. The more we understand about the existence of things and beings beyond our microworlds, the more enlightened we become.
Let's begin with the obvious. We are born into a universe that rapidly expands from womb to our family unit, our neighborhood and peer group, to our subcultures, and then beyond. This eventually extends to city, state, and national identity. A decent start. But let's go a step further.
Does it matter, or even exist, that our actions and interactions have any effect beyond our geographical perceptions? If so, then we are in effect collectively responsible for the quality of existence beyond our perceived geographic borders as well. From this perspective, we become worldly, proud global citizens a worthy endeavor for all who wish to expand their consciousness to the benefit of humankind and a fair and respectable place to rest our weary, earthly, physical existence.
Now, here's where it starts to get a little complicated. If we understand our place in the known universe, are globally conscious, and accept that all known beings are equally worthy and deserving, then we have attained readiness to ascend to a higher plane. In this plane, we may come to believe (at first) and know (inevitably) that worldly existence is itself an extension of the universe, a physical manisfestation of learning, being, and acceptance.
Still with us? Please continue, or come back again when you wish to learn more.
An extension of physical existence is spiritual life, in which the spirit in each of us is charged with learning learning how to manage our physical existence so that it works to benefit the physical universe we have defined for ourselves. We become less concerned with our own microworlds, and more concerned with our greater, collective well-being. This results in greater empathy, selflessness, and more prosocial behaviors.
In being, we become action-oriented. We act upon our positive beliefs and suppress those actions that may strengthen the negative forces that are destructive to others. For example, we do not hoard material items knowing that there are others in need. In effect, we give power to the positive realm while weakening the negative. The positive realm, however, can not defeat and eliminate the negative realm because either does not exist without the other. To simplify matters, in a positive realm most of our interactions work well; but, we remain in a constant struggle with a negative, reactionary force.
In acceptance, we come to the realization that the positive and negative realms are manifestations (not the universal truth); merely learning and being tools for the mind. For example, positive thoughts and actions like courage and pro-social behaviors reinforce the positive realm while negative thoughts and actions like fear and anti-social behavior reinforce the negative. In the being state, we see examples of this by the fear, lies, and greed that result in more powerful earthly forces attacking or stealing from the less powerful. We also see positive forces, like peace movements and acts of service, struggling to mitigate the negative. But let's go one step further, if you're ready.
So far, we have spoken mostly about the positive and negative realms. In the worldly plane (and there are many), these realms ARE real because we make them so. (Everything we create is real, but existence within the realms is also temporal.) But realms are not universes as there is only one universe the Positive Universe, and it exists both internally and externally for each of us, yet it is one and the same. The realms are both internal and external manifestations. Internally, we struggle with the conflict of the spirit and the ego. Externally, we struggle for consensual ascension. While there are dimensions to our existence, there are no multiple or parallel universes, as the universe is everything. We have hence volunteered ourselves to a worldly plane as a learning experience. And being in the worldly plane provides us the learning opportunity to understand and accept that unlike any given worldly plane and its dialectic realms the true universe is timeless, encompassing, and spiritually perfect.
If you wish to learn more about the positive and negative realms, you can consult the stories, lessons, and scholarship of Buddhism, Creationism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Native American spirituality, the liberation theologians, and many more of the world's great theologies and belief systems. All are powerful tools for negotiating the earthly realms.
If you wish to learn more about the Positive Universe (label notwithstanding), you may wish to begin with the works of A Course in Miracles, Ekhart Tolle, Nouk Sanchez, Tomas Vieira and many others in genre of new age and spirtitual psychology. But, be careful, as there are mistaken prophets everywhere.
And, when you're ready, consult your inner spirit. The knowledge, courage, and acceptance required for ascension to the positive universe resides within each and every one of us equally, without exception. Some believe we must, and will, all return together; and that striving for this is ultimately the most liberating and powerful source of our personal enlightenment. |
